Star Management sent out an email blast late last week providing an update on storm damage at Venetian Isles. Apparently the storm surge did not rise high enough to cause any flooding on first floor units in any of the buildings. Several of the pool lanai screens were torn and some siding and fascia was torn off from high winds. Velocity has been contacted to schedule building repairs. Later in the week everyone should have received an email from our landscape company discussing the extent of damage to our plants, trees and bushes.

I have also received some reports and photos of flooding in other areas of Punta Gorda Isles from friends but if you have been watching the Weather Channel I am sure that you have seen much of the same. Nothing official to report on the recent passage of Hurricane Helene off the coast of SW Florida. Star Management has not indicated that Venetian Isles community sustained any damage from the storm. Residents have reported that the storm surge flooded the canals to within 5-6 feet of the first floor units and flood waters completely filled the cut-de-sac even encroaching on the visitor parking areas.

Meeting Minutes from the 5/21/24 BOD meeting as well as the community financials through August 2024 are posted on the website. This is the only new content I have been given by the BOD. No update has been given to me on the landscaping update project.

The board continues to meet with various landscapers to try to develop a plan to improve the curb appeal of our units. As of the date of this website update, no contractor has been hired to complete this task.

A special thanks for the efforts of owner and resident Paul Kaszuba for his pruning and removal of dead plants & bushes over the past couple of months. Thanks Paul!!

The pool lanai cage has been installed and the pool re-opened on Saturday, Feb 17. The pool deck resurfacing is the last step but the work dates for this project has been moved back to May so it does not interfere with "high season" pool use.

Residents using the pool are reminded that the first person to use the pool each day should remove the solar cover and the cover should remain on the winder throughout the day. The last person to use the pool at the end of the days should recover the pool.
Work on the pool itself has been completed. The pool has been refilled and the heater is running. Replacement of the lanai cage has been completed. Today I posted some new pictures (go to Photos tab under More)) of the cage being assembled.
A large number of palm trees were removed this week in preparation for our upgraded landscaping project. The trees that were removed were either compromised by Hurricane Ian or were determined to be too close to the buildings requiring frequent maintenance.
